  • After gluing the square, use a pencil or marker to mark the circle. Before you start drilling the wheel, using bolts, it is advisable to fasten the structure. Drill according to the mark, treat the surface with sandpaper or a rasp.

If the wheelbarrow will be actively used to move heavy objects, then it is better to buy a metal wheel. In principle, the installation of both a wooden wheel and a finished metal one with a rubber tire is no different.

How to mount the wheel and frame

  1. To attach the wheel to the wheelbarrow, you need to connect the bars using a spacer. It is installed so that the wheel can be inserted. If the wheel width is about 5-6 centimeters, then the distance should be 8-9 centimeters. Therefore, the spacer can be prepared in advance, sawed down, especially at the ends, and attached with bolts to the beams.
  2. To mount the wheel, you can use a long metal rod (pin) that has a thread (thread length up to 200 mm. You also need to prepare four washers and nuts with a diameter of up to 14 mm.
  3. It is necessary to make a hole for the rod at the end of the beams. And drill a hole in the middle of the wheel larger than the diameter of the stud. Next, we assemble and secure the wheel with a washer and nut. The stud should be well secured; you can check this with a wrench. If it is loose, tighten it with two keys.

If you are assembling a wheelbarrow from metal, its body must be welded to the frame using a welding machine.

Assembly

  • Turn the wheelbarrow box over and place the base with the wheel installed on top, but so that the wheel does not reach the box itself. Using a marker or pencil, mark where the frame lies. This is necessary for cutting wooden wedges. Their thickness should be about 5 centimeters, twice as wide.
