About the excursion to Stone Town
Stone City– a unique natural geological object located in Ergaki natural park, in the status of a natural monument. Once upon a time I passed by the stone city an ancient route connecting the Uriankhai region (Tuva) and the Abakan steppes. In 1910, a wheeled track was built, called Usinsky Trakt. This is where we will drive in all-terrain vehicles.
Stone Town is a living legend about the freedom-loving people of the Sayans, fallen under the onslaught of the horde of the mythical khan.
Unique here vegetable world, bizarre rocks and stone placers, covered with a layer of moss, alpine meadows, centuries-old cedars and mighty spruce trees. Along the way we overcome the stormy Oya River and several kilometers of walking path and stairs.
Pedestrian part of the route is about 6 km, runs along a taiga path up the slope along stone outcrops. At an altitude of 1588 meters above sea level there is rock Watchtower, below stood stone guards - rocks reminiscent of the figures of ancient warriors. In the rocks about 40 meters high, the outlines of ancient buildings, human faces and various animals.
